Ica itself is pretty boring and doesn't offer much. The hostel though and the people we met are great. The hostel has 4 floors and offers on its rooftop an amazing view of the city and surrounding sand dunes.

The cute couple at the bar made us tasty pisco sours and in the evenings, after cooking, we entertained ourselves with billiards and

tablefootball. Blake, a co-backpacker who is on the move since 4 years gave us great tips for the rest of our trip and convinced us to visit Bolivia as a next step. We also visited a local chocolate factory with him where we bought this delicious caramel/chocolate/nuts desert!

In the afternoon we took a collectivo taxi to Huacachina, a desert oasis just 4 km outside the city to do sand dune riding and sandboarding - what an unique experience! The way the wind blew over dunes was truly mesmerizing.

The driver of our Buggy gave us a few adrenaline shocks (without being reckless - for those who worry ;) ). The sandboarding was a lot of fun too!

Small advise for all those who want to try: keep your mouth shut! ;)

To conclude the day, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset, sitting at the top of a sand dune. How cool is that?! Visiting Huacachina is a must-do of you are ever in the area!
